It’s been a while since we have updated our tumblr so I figured it would be a good time to so (I’d rather do this then study for my world religion final)

We played at Penn State University last week with Defeater and Man Overboard and the show was a blast.  There is a video of part of a Nirvana cover we did at the show on our facebook page.

In May we will be heading into the studio with Will Yip (Title Fight, Blacklisted) to record 4 new songs for a 7” we are hoping to release around November.  Stay posted for more information on that.

kojisaysaloha: Paging through the most recent issue of Alternative Press is like looking at a yearbook. Pictures of friends, dudes wearing make up, nerds, white kids who think they can rap, vampires, etc. Anyway, I got them to print the words “SOCIAL JUSTICE” so I feel alright about the whole thing. And just like high school, I’m wearing a clash t-shirt. KOJI is killing it!  Props dude!!!

Our new EP, “So They Say” is now available in it’s entirety at iamalaska.bandcamp.com!

You can purchase the EP for $6 dollars or stream it there.  Eventually it will be available on all digital outlets.

We hope you enjoy the songs, we are very proud of them and look forward to touring through-out 2011 while continuing to write more music.

Chick-fil-A & Same-Sex Marriage

I was going to Chick-fil-A for lunch today and was handed a flier that said…

  • Chick-fil-A has supported donations from franchises to the Pennsylvania Family Institute, which has lobbied for a ban on same-sex marriage in PA, and Family Life, whose website includes sections like “Help! My Child is a Homosexual!” and directly claims that same-sex marriage will undermine the institution of marriage and destroy the strength of our nation.
  • Chick-fil-A provides resources for The Ruth Foundation, part of the National Organization for Marriage that specifically focuses on preventing same-sex couples from having equal rights.
  • Chick-fli-A’s Winshape charity is a vital member of the Marriage CoMission, which incluses many groups opposing same-sex marriage, and which meets anually at the Winshape retreat.  They have hosted speakers such as David Blankenhorn, who believes same-sex couples should not be permitted to marry or even raise children.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be getting my chicken nuggets elsewhere.
